The Global Hippo Association Olympiad is an international event which promotes English language by challenging students around the globe to compete in English language proficiency, and improves co-operation between teachers. The Olympiad encourages the development of a shared sense of identity and integration among youth, nourishing friendly relationships and an international understanding of sporting competitiveness.

Gatehouse Awards is an industry leading Awarding Organization recognized by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation, England (Qfqual) and other recognition bodies worldwide, including Malta, Italy and Greece.

Mizzou Academy, the parent program of the University of Missouri College of Education, traces its roots back to 1857 as a lab school, evolving through Extension in 1913 to offer correspondence courses for high school credit to students without access to education.

The Dual Diploma® offers you the possibility to obtain an additional American High School diploma, which accelerates your admissions to international universities and schools. It is an interdisciplinary program that emphasizes immersive education in English, training in technology and the personal development of students.

Send out one of our parent communication letters (click here to download) to consider how many students are looking to register for the competition and pay the participation fee. If the school/department will be covering the participation fee, feel free to start filling the registration form immediately, by adding the info on this excel sheet.

Submit the excel form via email on farah@etclb.com to include all the information required for each student: full name, email address, exact date of birth, school name, mobile phone number.

An invoice will be released to your school which can be settled in-cash/cheque via a courier upon your request, or by bank transfer.

levels & fees
There are 6 levels available for registration this 2020-21 season for students between 7 and 18 years of age.
The competition takes on 2 rounds before the finals in Italy. If you're looking to register make sure you can make it to each of the rounds below:

Preliminary rounds were all registered participate on April 1 or 2, 2021. The top 10% qualify to the semi-finals.

Semi-final round on May 1 or 2, 2021. The top 2 students in this round qualify to the world championship in Italy.
